It was launched on September 3, 1990 in the capital Nicosia, but now has island-wide coverage. Radio Proto transmits on three FM frequencies in Nicosia (99.3), the Famagusta district (89.4) and Limassol (87.9). The first successful morning programme was presented by Giorgos Gravaris every day from 06:00-09:00.
